• The body of the housing is made of machined 316 stainless steel, titanium and advanced plastics. It is one of the strongest, smallest and the lightest housing in the industry.
• Reliable sealing design techniques are well known among other industries such as oil, marine, and aerospace, however they are frequently ignored in the underwater camera housing industry - either through ignorance or in order to save labor and tooling costs.
  One of the most important rules of good seal design is that the seal should be in a fully captured groove. This means that when the coverplate and the housing body are mated together the seal is totally surrounded on all four sides within its groove.

• The housing has cylindrical shape because it is the most pressure resistant. Such design of the housing allows for relatively large pressure (to the depth of ~500m) without affecting the sealing or structural stability. Most of the commercially available housings do not have such design (eg Pace, Amphibico).
• Front and rear plates of the housing are made from special plastics, which do not crack and have extremely high strength.
• LCD monitor and viewfinder widnows are made from polycarbonate, not Perspex^TM (aka acrylic). This means it is very resistant to impacts and does not crack or break easily. Most other housings use less expensive Perspex^TM, which does not provide adequate impact protection.
• Precision fully ellectronic focus and zoom controls allow critical adjustments can be used with wide range of servos and lenses.

• Flat and dome ports are available. The ports are made from high quality, multi-coated optical glass allowing for high contrast and distortion-free images.
• Pre-pressured sealing system provides secure and forgiving seal. Some brands (eg Pace) use vacuum pumps to confirm sealing. We believe this method is inappropriate for high definition equipment. The reason is that most high definition cameras and lenses are not designed to operate in vacuum. When decompressing, the lens as well as the camera can suck up moisture and dust particles, which may cause damage. Furthermore, we believe that vacuum test doesn't ensure seal under external pressure, which causes distortions to the housing structure. Consequently, if a leak develops under pressure, the vacuum inside the housing will cause substantially more damage even if the camera is brought to shallow depths. As the solution we developed a system, which does not require testing to ensure seal to start with.

• Titanium camera mounting plate is light weight, strong and allows wide range of adjustments.

• Precision made carbon fibre viewfinder housing has the strength to withstand pressures many times exceeding those encountered by divers.
• Both viewfinder and additional LCD screen are available. This allows uncompromised image evaluation and critical focus adjustment underwater.

• Water leakage sensor gives early warning and provides additional safety.
• Controls are electronic allowing robust operation of variety lenses and cameras. We do not use mechanical controls because they are more likely to fail and require time consuming installation of the camera inside the housing. Controls are precision machined from stainless steel and feature tripple o-rings for uncompromised safety. Most brands use single o-rings.
• Rugged construction allows withstanding rough conditions at sea, boat, rock or sandy beach entry and exit. The housing is scratch and bump resistant. We are not aware of any other commercial housing to withstand similar treatment
• The housing is compact, lightweight and ergonomic.
• Positively buoyant adjustable with additional weights or video light battery packs. The extra weight can be dropped in emergency situation sending housing back to the surface.
